Indoor Tropical Plants
Transform Your Indoor Spaces
Your indoor areas will be beautifully maintained with house plants and containers that are chosen to meet your specific office aesthetics and available light. We order all our foliage plants, change-out plants and containers specifically for your Philadelphia metropolitan area business, rather than take them from pre-existing inventory and plug them into your site. Plants under a maintenance contract will be in top condition or promptly replaced at no additional charge. Keep it Green Interiors guarantees every client, regardless of size, a beautiful and worry-free experience with clean, courteous and reliable service. We provide design, installation and maintenance services for atriums, office buildings, country clubs, retirement communities, and all other types of commercial establishments.
Plants Keep Indoor Spaces Healthy and Productive
According to reports from the Environmental Protection Agency, the average American spends about 80% of their time indoors. Levels of indoor air pollutants can be as much as 100 times greater than levels outdoors. Living plants effectively remove formaldehyde, alcohol, benzene, xylene, trichloroethylene, and carbon monoxide from the air while adding oxygen. This is especially valuable in today’s climate controlled offices.
For example, a Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum) produces a striking white ‘lily flower’ spike and will reliably bloom indoors. Peace Lilies require low light yet are effective in removing alcohols, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, acetone and benzene from indoor spaces.
In September 2014, experiments by UK researchers at Cardiff University found that adding potted plants to a “lean office” increased productivity by 15 percent. Employees who work in a “green” office surrounded by plants are happier than people in “lean” offices without live foliage. Knight, one of the study’s authors stated, “the idea behind a so-called lean office space is that clearing everything from the work surface except items needed for work is supposed to reduce distractions, which should then lead to better productivity”. However, the study found the workers in the green office reported increased workplace satisfaction, had 20% improvement in concentration and felt the air quality to be better than workers in the “lean” space.
